Mikael Björnstjerna is a swedish architect, industrial designer and co-founder of the original Boda Nova company of Sweden noted for its bold, radical design philosophy.
He briefly served on the board of directors of the Swedish Architects’ Association SIR
and his work embraces architecture, industrial design and graphic design. As well as
working on architecture and industrial design he has contributed illustrations to varied newspapers such as The New York Times and International Herald Tribune.
A number of his creations have been on display at Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris,
the Museum of Arts and Design in New York and at european expositions such as the
traveling exhibition Scandinavian Design Cavalcade, designed and supervised by him.
Part of a cultural exchange program, and made of 3000 white cardboard boxes, SDC
went to Copenhagen, Milan, Warsaw and Wroclaw. Samples of Mikael Björnstjerna’s design work are in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art / MoMA,
New York and The National Museum, Stockholm.

Mikael Björnstjerna est un architecte suédois, designer industriel et co-fondateur de
la société originale Boda Nova de Suède, réputée pour sa philosophie d’une design
audacieux et radical. Il a brièvement siégé au conseil d'administration de l'Association
Suédoise des Architectes SIR et son travail englobe l'architecture, le design industriel
et le design graphique. Travaillant aussi bien sur l'architecture que le design industriel,
il a contribué à des illustrations pour divers journaux tels que The New York Times et
International Herald Tribune.
Un nombre de ses créations ont été exposées au Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris,
au Museum of Arts and Design de New York et lors d'expositions européennes comme
l’exposition itinérante Scandinavian Design Cavalcade, qu’il a conçue et supervisée.
Dans le cadre d'un programme d'échange culturel l’exposition SDC, construit de 3000
cartons blancs, est allée à Copenhague, Milan, Varsovie et Wroclaw. Des exemples de
la conception radicale de Mikael Björnstjerna font partie des collections permanentes
